Escape To [Kelantan]
its may again..its also my birthmonth..i dunno why,but usually for me and my wife, this particular month would be an enjoyable month for us.. so,what weve been doing nowadays?
the latest event i succesfully done is our vacation/trip to kota bharu,kelantan.. yes, weve been to kelantan this month.. this trip is planned by my wife and its on worker day last week.. the different things in this trip is that we invited my inlaws to come together with us.. at 1st it was planned for us to go with 1 car.. but later my wife's bro insist that he and his family want to join the trip.. the last minute request kinda haywired all the plan we already had.. we have to look for additional room for them, and at just 1 day before the date,it seem imposible.. its a public holiday and all the hotels in kota bharu already fully booked.. thankfully,my wife managed to get us another room and my bro inlaw had to settled for a small single bed room.. we start out with having bfast in sbrg jaya and move toward kelantan via bworth - kulim xpresway.. from there we passed baling, grik, banding, titiwangsa, jeli, tanahmerah, pasir mas and finally kota bharu..
this is my 1st time visiting kota bharu all by myself, as i recall i did went there with my dad and mom when i was small.. and also my sis was borned in kota bharu, of course at that time i wasnt been created/borned yet.. so, back to kota bharu, at 1st impression, it is a small town with lots of small road and misleading signboard.. damn i need 2 day to familiarize the road to our hotel.. and after i can remember it, its already time to go back home.. heh.. where we did go? on the 1st day we went to the kompleks buluh kubu next to the pasar siti khadijah.. then later in evening we had our trip to the pantai cahaya bulan and all the batik shop en route to the beach.. nightime for the 1st day is dinner at pcb again (where i wanted to try those sup belut only to be warned by my wife not to) late at night we went back to the town and we went to the nightmarket.. there, and then we go back and had our snoring sleep.. hehe.. the 2nd day started with our bfast in house, then we went to the pasar siti khadijah (i bought turtle eggs! haha!) had our buying fest (my wife and her family actually) and walk to the cultural village about 200 meters from the pasar.. from there, my inlaws was already tired and they end up going back to the hotel early.. we (me and my wife) decided that our lust of buying and sightseeing still not being satisfied, so we went back to the buluh kubu complex to look for batik shirt.. and just to be warned, the prices of batik shirt in buluh kubu complex is 15-30% higher than in pasar siti khadijah.. so, we end up going to the pasar (again!) and looking for a better price.. finally, i end up buying 2 pair of batik shirts (priced at RM100 per piece) and my wife got a pair of batik silk for baju kurung.. from there, we rush back to the hotel (as it already 12.30pm) and managed to check out at 1.00pm..
then from kota bharu we travel to rantau panjang to check out the scene and stuffs there.. me, my wife and my bro inlaw never went to the place so there was no one to guide us there.. at the place, we accidently went thru the wrong route and asked to go back as it was gate to golok and straight to thailand.. lol.. i guess someone need to be blame on this.. hehe.. we finally get to the place but as it was saturday and a day after public holiday, the place is in hectic condition.. cars parked nearly everywhere and i dont think we can manage to get a decent parking lots for both me and my bro inlaw car together.. so we decided to just turn back and start our journey back to penang.. we stop by near the town and had our late lunch there.. (my bro inlaw get his pulut durian and i had a pulut ayam goreng - what a funny food combination.. hehe)
from there, it was already nearly 4.00pm and we still in kelantan.. we drove our cars back (this time i take the lead as i drove faster than my bro inlaw) to jeli, started climbing gerik near 7.00pm and reach baling nearly 9.30pm.. while on the road, i had a green viva "cucuking" my 660 viva.. i did gave him a chance to pass me, but he just like to play-play on the road (most likely to showoff his girlfriend sitted next to him).. its a young malay guy.. even my bro inlaw whos been following that car horned him not to be fooling around, but it seem it just not working.. at last, he did passed my car and i just said to myself, this guy gonna get something later.. on top of the titiwangsa, it was a dark night with thick fog.. it has been raining all day up there and the fog make it worst for the car travelling thru the titiwangsa.. all i can see only about 5 meters infront of the car and what i can do is just follow the road line.. then, just after tasik banding, we met again with that green viva.. in wrecked condition!!.. what happen is the driver lost his control and "hantam" the road divider just after a tight corner.. i drove slowly near the scene as ambulance and police are already there.. the girl was stretched into the ambulance and i cant see where the driver was.. there, a "balasan" straight given to ppl that dont have respect to others using the road..
we arrived in seberang jaya thru butterworth-kulim expressway at about 10.30pm and had our dinner at a nasi kandar restaurant.. from there i drove back to my house and my bro inlaw drove straight to alor star..
it was a enjoyable and wonderfull experience/journey to kelantan.. as i always said to my wife.. its not the place we want to go that give us the joy but the journey along the road to the place will make us remember and thinking of it later on..
till then, chiao!
