Great Vacation

yes.. im back (again)
actually today is my 1st day workin of the week.. yep, its wednesday, and i just came to work today.. after havin my leave on friday, monday and tuesday.. YAY!

Okey, where have i've gone for 3+2 days?
its all started when i got my extra income last month from my claims.. my lovely wife asked me if i wanted to do somethin with that extra money.. i cant think of anythin else than goin somewhere for vacation.. as our last vacation was to cameron or is pangkor in the early month of 2007.. and its been soo long i've gone somewhere with her..
so, i told her let go to somewhere else this time.. some place that we've never go together.. so we decided we will be goin to Langkawi Island..
so, after a quick calculation (from my wife, of course!) we planned it to be on 14th of July 2007.. its because the date is a public holiday for penang, and my wife got an extra day leave for her works.. and the story kept goin..

we went back to my inlaws house late friday night.. spent the night there and go out early to Kuala Perlis on saturday mornin.. the journey was approx 1 hour.. and we arrive at the jetty about 10.00 am.. we get our ferry ticket for the next trip (11.00 am) and we waited there relaxin.. the ferry journey was ok.. as the trip will take us another 1 hour before we arrive at langkawi island.. we arrive there at 12 noon and we straightly went to rent our car and hotel..
then we realize that there were soo many ppl comin into the island, and after askin for rooms, we decided to go directly to pantai chenang to try gettin a rooms there.. our luck that day never came as we cant get any available room till 2.30 pm.. then after doin some research, we decided to take bella vista hotel as our place for the night.. the rate is RM170 per night and we take it as we dont think we could find other cheeper and available hotel for the day.. we then went to underwater world, an aquarium place in pantai chenang.. that night we spend relaxing and window shopping and we ate our dinner at a nearby food court..

the next mornin we decided we had to book the ferry early as we know most of the tourists will be goin back to the mainland that day.. so we went for quick bfast, packed our belongin and checked out at 8.30 am.. we then went to kuah town, book/buy our ferry tickets, and go to gunung mat chinchang.. we arrived at the kaki gunung at about 9.30 but the receptionist told us the cable car services had to be postponed untill the weather clears up the hill.. we wonders around the kaki gunung, at about 10.30 the cable cars services are up and we are among the 1st who goin up that day.. the view was marvelous.. the height are ok.. and the weather is not as cold as we being told.. :P we do rest a while up there, took some pics together and even video called my bro inlaw to show them that we are on top of langkawi island.. hehe.. tech geek!!

we then came down from gunung mat chinchang at about 12.00 noon, at that time both of us are already exhausted.. and we decided to ate our lunch 1st before goin back to kuah town.. at lunch we discussed about our plan of the day and considering that we seem cant get to go to island hoppin without exhausting our body anymore, we decided to extend our vacation in the island for 1 more day.. yehaa!! we then went back to the ferry counter, change our tickets for tomorrow ferry and went to chenang searchin for a motel.. we are lucky that most of the motel are available as the tourists and vacationer are checking out on sunday.. so we got ourselves a motel called CDMOtel near the beaches and rested for the evenin.. at 5.30 we went back to the kuah town and do some window shoppin at the driveby shop.. we ate our dinner at a beach restaurant near our motel..

the last day our trip to langkawi, we woke up at 8.00 am and went for bfast at a cafe next to the motel and get ready for our island hoppin package.. the van picked us and other ppl up at about 9.30 am and we're off on a small tourist boat to our 1st island.. pulau dayang bunting is an excitin island as it was told that the island hold many mystery and was said to be "guarded".. we take turn to used the ikan keli massaging, which was really tickling.. and then we're off to see the eagle feeding process.. the boat stop at a small bay in 1 of the island, and hence the boatmen throws some bait in the sea water.. after about 2 mins, there are about 20 eagles come and surrouding the bay.. they took turn to come down to the water and grab the baits.. the view was exciting as we're all stood up in the boat to watch all these thing happens.. hehe.. after about 20mins, we're off to the pulau beras basah.. an island said to be the cleanest and fairer beach in langkawi.. and it is!! the water is warm and the sand is smooth.. we play in the water for a while (my wife didnt like the ideas both of us who never knew how to swim to be in deep water) haha!! we rode back to langkawi island full of exciting memories and arrived at the jetty at about 1.00 pm.. we went back to our room to freshen up and checked out at 1.30 pm.. ate our lunch at a nasi kandar restaurant near the underwater world and drive back to kuah town.. before we send back the rented car, we did stop at stores to buy some stuffs for our family back in penang and alor star.. we arrived at the kuah jetty at about 4.30 and our ferry is waitin there.. the journey back is a tiring and as usual, my wife slept the whole ride.. hmm..

we end our trip to langkawi island at kuala perlis jetty at approx 6.15 pm, checked out our parked car.. and went to pekena laksa kuala perlis near the nelayan restaurant.. as we both tired, we (it was me!) drive straight back to alor setar.. we arrived at my inlaws house at about 7.30pm..

yay! its a long journey and full with exciting memories.. we said to ourselves, that after 5 years.. we would come back to this island to see the differences and the developments.. thanks langkawi.. its been a worthwile vacation..
